Comedy Night 10 November 2018
James Alderson (MC)
Funny man James Alderson is back as our compere for the evening. Those of you who have attended our previous comedy nights will be familiar with James' antics. He's not afraid to say what he thinks, but always makes the audience (especially the front row) feel very welcome!
Original, provocative and exceptionally prolific – Baptiste is already being hailed as one of the most exciting acts to break in years. The London born stand up made comedy history in 2014 as the first black British act to be nominated for a Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His comedy series Sunny D premiered on BBC Three in Spring 2016.
Paul started stand-up in 1992, when he won the Time Out New Act of the Year Award. The same magazine named him stand-up comic of the year in 1997. He gained more exposure as presenter of the Big Breakfast but only lasted two months before being fired. He is now a circuit stalwart, and regularly entertains the troops.
Andy Askins is a diminutive figure who exudes an air of vulnerability as he steps up to the microphone armed with a guitar and a cheeky grin. It's an overwhelmingly misleading demeanour which serves to heighten the impact of the killer lines that he delivers. Dark humour with faultless timing.
