The distinctive style comes from a crossover of genres. With references to the likes of The Band, Clash and Gomez. You will hear undertones of reggae, funk, latin and bluegrass amongst their all original material. Since 2010 sweetcornbread have been performing at independent festivals and venues across the UK.
A five-piece band from Harpenden who formed in 2011. Armed with mandolins, accordions, guitars and drums, they deliver their own scrapyard collision of infectious, good time, boot stompin', beer swillin',bluegrass, cajun, country, rock-a-billy, skiffle-punk, guaranteed to bring a smile to the sullenest of faces and draw out that little touch of trailer trash in your soul.
THE APRICOT HOUNDS
The combined folky and blues sounds of Agne Mikailionyte, Adam Norman, Vaughan Bloomfield and Tom Warland. The Apricot Hounds are founded on the idea of producing a rich organic sound with influences from blues, rock and folk music incased in a 4 piece outfit with two singers in harmony, guitar, violin and mandolin.
Ska punk truly is a wonderful thing. When it’s done well there’s very little that can make a person feel better. The bounce and sway of ska sneaks in under your skin and compels you to nod your head, tap your toes and maybe even shake your rump. Codename Colin make ska that indeed compels you to do all of the aforementioned.
MOLLY & THE BEEKEEPERS
Molly and the Beekeepers are a funky four-piece band (Anya, Cian Charlie and Andrew) that hail from Watford. They play a combination of folk, country and bluegrass originals along with covers, with a twist, to keep the crowd buzzing! Its their fest time at BerkoBeerFest so make them feel welcome.
Harry is a guitarist, singer and songwriteI. He co-produced an album and EP's for his own solo project, and is a member of a number of bands. Harry's love for many musical styles helps him to bring a wealth of different and interesting influences to both guitar and song. Drawing upon blues, jazz, country, folk, rock and world music records provides him with a unique playing style.
FLATCAPS & FISTICUFFS
Delicious country folk punk hailing from Hertfordshire. A lively and energetic act that spills over the stage, into the crowd and lands dancing on tables. The combination of classic folk instruments such as mandolin and ukulele with blisteringly fast riffing, gang vocals and fun stage antics charms and disarms the crowd before leaving them grining and chanting for more.
A songwriting partnership of two brothers Alex and Rolf Tinlin, whose emphasis lies firmly in the production of original and honest, yet well-crafted music. Tinlin's style is constantly evolving to capture the emotion of the music; from the raw simplicity of mandolin and guitar, to bolder, and more experimental productions.
A three piece band from London comprising of Richard (Drums), Chris (Bass) and Alex (Guitar/ Vocals). Their backgrounds and influences vary, but they are all students of the art of music and are always drawing influence from everything they see and hear. After gigging through last year they are now in the studio recording.
